Delivery Model Summary
- Marketplace Model: Market Hub connects independent buyers and sellers across 23 African countries. Goods are dispatched or handed over directly by individual sellers.
- Delivery Options: In-person public pickup (recommended for inspection), local courier/rider dispatch, or regional parcel transit.
- Estimated Transit Times: Local city deliveries typically arrive within 1–2 business days. Regional / cross-province transit typically takes 2–5 business days.
- Shipping Costs: Arranged and communicated directly between the buyer and seller before order confirmation.
- Tracking & Inspection: Buyers are encouraged to inspect goods upon collection or delivery before completing payment.
1. How Shipping Works on Market Hub
Market Hub is an online multi-vendor classifieds and commerce venue. We do not operate a central warehouse or transport fleet. Every product listed is stored, packaged, and dispatched directly by the independent seller located in your country.
2. Delivery Methods
A. In-Person Collection (Recommended)
Buyers and sellers meet in an agreed, safe public location (such as a shopping center, transit hub, or bank lobby). This allows the buyer to physically inspect and test the item before completing the transaction.
B. Local Courier / On-Demand Rider
For intra-city orders (e.g., within Nairobi, Lagos, Johannesburg, Kampala, or Cairo), sellers frequently arrange dispatch via trusted local motorcycle or van couriers (e.g., Sendy, Boda, Glovo, Bolt, or private dispatch riders).
C. Regional / Inter-City Parcel Transit
For orders between different provinces or cities, reputable bus parcel services or certified national couriers (e.g., Posta, G4S, Aramex, DHL, Speedaf) are used with parcel tracking receipts.

4. Shipping Costs & Transparency
Shipping fees are determined by the delivery distance, parcel weight, and chosen courier service. Sellers are required to communicate all shipping fees up-front during in-app messaging or offer bargaining. Hidden delivery surcharges after agreement violate Market Hub's Terms of Service.
5. Buyer Safety & Delivery Disputes
Never pay for goods in advance to an unverified seller without a secure agreement. For deliveries, request a waybill or tracking number. If an item fails to arrive or arrives damaged, report the listing immediately via the in-app "Report" button or email support@markethubafrica.com.
