Answers to the most common questions about buying, selling, payments, and your account on MarketHub. If you don't find what you need, email support@markethubafrica.com.

For Buyers

  • How do I search for a specific product? Use the search bar with brand + model. Open Filters to narrow by city, price, or condition.
  • How do I contact a seller? Click "Message Seller" on any listing — no phone-number sharing required.
  • How do I save items for later? Tap the heart icon on any listing — saved items live under Dashboard → Wishlist.
  • What if a seller doesn't respond? Most reply within 24 hours. After 48 hours, message a different seller — there's usually similar stock.
  • How do I report a suspicious listing? Click the "Report" button on the listing page — moderation reviews within 24 hours.

For Sellers

  • How do I post a listing? Click "Post Ad" in the navbar (or the "+" tile on mobile). Add photos, fill in details, publish.
  • Why is my listing pending approval? Certain categories (real estate, vehicles, regulated items) require admin review for safety. Usually decided within 24 hours.
  • How do I edit a listing? Dashboard → My Listings → click the listing → Edit.
  • How do I delete a listing? Dashboard → My Listings → menu icon → Delete. Goes to Trash for 30 days, then permanently removed (Cloudinary photos destroyed too).
  • Why isn't my listing showing in search? It may be pending approval, marked sold, or have a moderation hold. Check the status banner on the listing.

Account & Security

  • Forgot password? Click "Forgot password" on /login — we email a one-tap reset link.
  • Want 2FA? Settings → Security → Enable two-factor authentication. Works with any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password).
  • Got locked out? Use one of the 10 recovery codes you saved during 2FA setup.
  • Account compromised? Email support@markethubafrica.com immediately — we can lock the account and reset access within hours.
  • Want to delete your account? Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. Confirm with your password. Data removed within 30 days (legal retention applies).

Payments & Boosts

  • How do I pay for a Boost? Submit the boost request, send payment via mobile money or bank transfer, attach the receipt screenshot to your request.
  • When does my Boost go live? Within 24 hours of admin approval. You'll see a "Boosted" badge appear on the listing.
  • Can I cancel a Boost after approval? Not by default. Contact support for special circumstances (incorrectly approved, listing removed).
  • Will I get a refund if my listing is removed mid-boost? Yes if the removal was MarketHub's error; case-by-case otherwise.

  • In your message: include your account email, the listing or user ID (from the URL), and a screenshot of the problem.
  • For urgent issues (account locked, scam in progress), include "urgent" in the subject line.
